Individual members meet around Europe

Individual members are an active and dynamic part of the ALDE Party. They meet across Europe in meetings, big and small.

Last week, individual members and their friends met for example for a meet and greet the new Steering Committee at ALDE Party HQ in Brussels.

On Friday 23 February, individual members living in or visiting Belgium met at ALDE Party Headquarters for a meet and greet with the new Steering Committee, which had just met with the ALDE Party Secretary General Jacob Moroza-Rasmussen and his team. On Saturday, the Steering Committee continued their meeting. Members will receive a report by the Steering Committee soon which will include information about: tasks appointed to each member of the Steering Committee; preparations for the elections in 6 of our countries for Coordinators; budget for events; the cooperation between the ALDE Party and the Steering Committee for the benefits of our individual members; preparations for 9th May – Europe Day. Thursday 1 March 2018: "Young people in politics, visions for tomorrow" in Athens, Greece

ALDE Party Individual Members in Greece launch a new series of events regarding young-aged people in politics.

On 1 March 2018 at 19:00, they will introduce the first event under the title “Young people in politics, what’s their vision for tomorrow”.

People from different political parties, will join a debate aiming to introduce their vision about Greece.

The event will be co-organized with Europe Direct City of Athens and will take place in it’s facilities at Serafeio Innovation Cultural Athletic Center. The network of Europe Direct information center, is one of European Union's key tools for informing European citizens about the Union.

- Pavlos Christidis, press representative of PASOK.

- Vassilis Xypolytas, Secretary of Productive Sectors in New Democracy.

- Vasiliki Souladaki, Member of the Central Committee of the Socialist Party and foreign policy alternate.

- Menelaos Spyrakos, Member of the Political Committee in New Democracy, Individual Member of ALDE Party.

The event will be coordinated by Ntoka Thalia, co-Chair of ALDE Party Individual Members.

Thursday 1 March, Brussels, Belgium: book presentation

Individual member and former UK Lib Dem MEP Andrew Duff will present his latest book at an event organised by the Spinelli Group. Andrew will be launching his new book ‘On Governing Europe: a federal experiment’ on Thursday 1 March at 18.30 in the Press Club on Rue Froissart. Franklin Dehousse will join him in conversation. Saturday 3 March, individual members at D66 Congress in Rotterdam

Individual members will meet at the fringe of the D66 Congress in Rotterdam. If you'll be at the D66 Congress and want to meet up, please write to country coordinator Pascal Jacobs for details.

Saturday 3 March, individual members will meet in Madrid, Spain

In the presence of country coordinator Eduardo Roca, individual members will meet up for an "After Work" in Madrid on Saturday 3 March from 17h30 to talk in a relaxed atmosphere about ALDE, Europe and much more. Friday 9 and Saturday 10 March in Munich, Germany

This event is going to happen one week after the parliamentary elections in Italy, which we will use to have a closer look onto the results of the elections, and for a discussion with specialists of foreign affairs of the FDP Germany.

We will also discuss our up-coming international conference in May, prepare activities for the European elections and structure our work until that important date within the European calendar. Special guest: Yuri Guaiani from Italy. More information is available here.

15 March in Paris, France and 16 and 17 March in Lyon, France

On Thursday 15 March, individual members will meet at the European Parliament office in Paris to discuss "immigration and Europe" as well as "European security and defense". For more information and to register your participation please write to [email protected]

On Friday 16 March, individual members will meet for the first time in Lyon, France. On the agenda will be the activities in 2018, several key themes and preparations in view of the upcoming European elections of 2019. For more information, please write to [email protected]

Country coordinator Yves Robert will also attend an event organised by individual member Pierre Jouvenat and the Union of European Federalists.
