Earlier this year, the ALDE Party established four Bureau Policy Advisory Groups on the following topical themes:
- Climate and Sustainability
- Jobs, Growth and Innovation
- Democracy and Security
- China
The main objective of the AGs is to facilitate learning and best practice sharing between ALDE member parties resulting in new actionable policy ideas and solutions that will help ALDE Party to build the ALDE Party's public policy profile.
Each advisory group has a governance structure as follows:
- Chair(s): ALDE Party Bureau member
- Political level: includes politicians from member parties (e.g., policy relevant spokespersons), MEPs and liberal commissioners
- Technical level: includes staff/policy advisers from ALDE member parties as well as representatives from key stakeholders
The AGs will convene 1-2 times per year at political level and at least 4 times per year at technical level (physically and virtually). Subscribers to the Liberal Insider Pro will receive exclusive highlights after these AGs – we know this will be of value to you!
The AGs mandate should run until the next European Parliament election in 2024.
