On 5 June, ALDE Party member Laisvės Partija in Lithuania held its annual party congress on the town hall square in Vilnius to elect the party leadership for the coming two years. Incumbent party leader Aušrinė Armonaitė was elected for a second term, and new members were elected for the party board, ethics and transparency and control commissions.
The Congress programme covered a range of key topics, and party leader Armonaitė together with Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius and Minister of Justice Evelina Dobrovolska delivered speeches. Another Lithuanian ALDE Party member, Liberalų sąjūdis, also took part in the congress, and party leader and Speaker of Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen took the stage to highlight the positive cooperation of both ALDE members in the governing coalition.
Moreover, high-level ALDE politicians also participated in the Congress virtually. These guests included Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel (DP), and Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo (Open Vld), ALDE Party Acting co-President Ilhan Kyuchyuk MEP (MRF) and Latvian Minister Artūrs Toms Plešs (Latvijas attīstībai).
