Earlier this week, Maria Claudia Pastena joined the ALDE Party Secretariat as our new Events Manager.

Maria Claudia has previously worked as events manager for one of the biggest integrated communication agencies in Italy, where she was in charge of clients like Boeing, Qualcomm and Huawei. After moving to Belgium, she collaborated first with an environmental think-tank and then with the Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles in the capacity of event and social media manager.

Maria Claudia summarised her thoughts upon arrival with a quote by Tony Blair:

“Some may belittle politics, but we know it is where people stand tall. And although I know it has its many harsh contentions, it is still the arena which sets the heart beating fast. It may sometimes be a place of low skulduggery but it is more often a place for more noble causes.”
