On Monday 15 October, the deadline passed for members to submit a nomination to be a candidate for the elections for new country coordinators in Germany. The ALDE Party secretariat received three nominations: one nomination for the Northern region, one nomination for the Western region and one for the Southern region. No nomination has been received for the Eastern region.

This is why the Steering Committee has formally appointed as new country coordinators: Wolf Achim Wiegand (North); Marie-Catherine Meyer (West); Sven Gossel (South). They are full of energy to bring members together, ready to stand up for the European liberal values and determined to work for the development of individual membership in Germany. Together, they are a step forward for our individual members in Germany – ahead of next year’s important European elections.

We will not proceed to an election. Together with the newly appointed coordinators, the Steering Committee will continue its search for a coordinator in the East.
