For the European elections to be held on 23-26 May, ALDE member party Progressive Slovakia has formed a coalition with the Together party. They will run their campaign together under the slogan A Genuinely European Slovakia.

The lead candidate for the coalition is Michal Šimečka, Vice-Chairman of Progressive Slovakia and an expert on European and foreign policy, followed by Vladimír Bilčík, University teacher and expert on European politics.

Bilčík told the news agency TASR that the campaign slogan is an expression of the efforts to catch up with Western Europe: “We don’t have to feel like second-class Europeans. It’s time to bring Slovakia’s European journey to a successful end.”
