Together with the European Commission Vice-President Věra Jourová, Liberal Mayors from 12 different countries will discuss the EU’s first Rule of Law report, published earlier this autumn, during the 7th Liberal Mayors Summit on 26 November 2020.

The Summit, led by President of the Renew Europe Group in the European Committee of the Regions (Renew Europe CoR) François Decoster, Mayor of Saint-Omer (France), will digitally gather more than 20 Mayors from 12 different countries. The Summit will kick off with a discussion on upholding the Rule of Law in Europe, with a keynote address by Commission Vice-President Jourová and with reactions by, among others, Dirk Wedel (State Secretary, Ministry of Justice, of North Rhine Westphalia) and Michal Šimečka MEP, European Parliament rapporteur on EU Mechanism on Democracy, the Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights.

The participants will also debate how to support campaigns for LGBTI+ citizens in Poland and exchange views on the management of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
