Secretariat welcomes new interns

We are delighted to welcome two new trainees to the ALDE Party Secretariat: Giulio Girardelli and Maria Wisniewska, who will both assist our data team in the Political Unit.

Giulio was born in 1995 in Rome from Italian parents. He was exposed from a young age to different European cultures and languages thanks to the German School of Rome. Giulio continued his education with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Social Sciences at the Free University of Bolzano, where he acted as student representative and as data analyst for the university’s evaluation committee. He also spent a semester at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where he studied the effects of trade liberalisation in Sub-Saharan African countries.

As recent elections and other referenda have shown, the EU finds itself in a critical moment of its history. Further, with European election coming up, the importance of the coming months is only going to increase. In this light, I look forward to learning from, and contributing to, the Secretariat’s work in order to bring the EU and ALDE’s actions in the centre of citizens’ attention,” he said in his first day.

Maria comes from Poland. She is about to graduate from her Master’s Studies in Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems at Warsaw School of Economics. She has an over two-year experience in a consulting company, where she was helping with analytical assignments in the actuarial department and risk advisory department. Throughout her studies she developed a strong interest in data analysis and she hopes to enhance her skills during the traineeship at ALDE Party.

My motivation for this internship was to become an active part of the European community. I am very excited for what’s coming," she shared.

Best of luck to both of them!
