On 27 January, VVD presented the full list of candidates for the European elections on 6 June at a party Congress in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands.
The lead candidate, ALDE Party Vice-President Malik Azmani MEP, is followed by Bart Groothuis MEP and Jeannette Baljeu, VVD’s leader in the Provincial Council of South Holland.

Members took part in various thematic sessions during the day, including a panel debate led by Azmani on a safe Netherlands in a strong Europe, and were addressed by party leader Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius in a keynote speech.
“The European Parliament elections soon will be about incredibly fundamental issues. And I am proud that we have our own Malik there who is also going to head a rock-solid list,” said Yeşilgöz-Zegerius.
“It always comes down to the realisation that freedom can never be taken for granted. We were created as the VVD to fight for that. As liberals, we always find each other on substance and we are always ready to take responsibility. We know what we stand for.”
