On 12 October, Gibraltar held snap parliamentary elections to elect all 17 Members of the Gibraltar Parliament.
ALDE Party member Liberal Party of Gibraltar (LPG), running in a long-standing alliance with the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party, won its fourth election in a row with 49.9% of the popular vote, bringing nine deputies into the chamber.
Liberal leader Dr. Joseph Garcia topped the poll with 9,852 personal votes and will continue to serve as Deputy Chief Minister, while LPG colleague Leslie Bruzon has been appointed Minister for Industrial Relations, Civil Contingencies and Sport.
“It is truly an honour that the people of Gibraltar have voted us into government for the fourth time in a row. I very much look forward to serving them in the months and years ahead, and to contribute to the conclusion of a treaty between the United Kingdom and the European Union which governs the future relationship of Gibraltar,” said Dr. Garcia.
THANK YOU GIBRALTAR.
