Più Europa hosts national convention

Last week, ALDE Member Party Più Europa in Italy hosted their national convention, Una generazione avanti. Idee per l'Italia che verrà (A Generation Ahead. Ideas for Italy's Future) in the run-up to the regional elections in Emilia Romagna on 26 January.

Focused on topics at the heart of Più Europa's political agenda, the convention included discussion and debate on sustainability and intergenerational equity with experts from across different fields. In addition, activists and local party members drafted a manifesto outlining core principles the party aims to incorporate into future policymaking.

On the second day of the convention, a political event was held with candidates and Più Europa leaders, including Party Leader Emma Bonino, Secretary Benedetto Della Vedova and Vice-Secretary Piercamillo Falasca.

Both Italian and European analysts have called the upcoming elections in Emilia Romagna, one of the most developed and pro-European regions in Italy, a crucial vote for the future of the country. To this end, Più Europa is supporting Stefano Bonaccini, current President of Emilia Romagana (Partito Democratico) in the election, who is running against a high-polling candidate from the far-right Northern League.

More information, news and photos from the convention can be found on Più Europa's designated convention website and Twitter.
