Kaja Kallas to lead new government in Estonia

After successful government negotiations between Reformierakond, Eesti 200 and the Social Democrats, incumbent Prime Minister Kaja Kallas has renewed her mandate to lead Estonia. The negotiations follow parliamentary elections in March, where Reformierakond won by a landslide with 31.2% of the vote. The party is set to hold total of seven out of 13 ministerial positions in the new government.

Liberals mark 25th Anniversary of Good Friday Agreement

During the past week, European liberals have joined in commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday agreement. The watershed deal, signed in 1998, ended 30 years of violence and conflict in Northern Ireland, known as the Troubles. The anniversary was a chance to reflect on the work that went into the agreement and following peace, and to commemorate the victims of the conflict.

Renew Europe CoR: Stop migration tragedies

In a recent event, local and regional authorities led by Giuseppe Varacalli, member of Renew Europe in the European Committee of the Regions, discussed how to promote integration of migrants and refugees, intercultural interaction and social cohesion in increasingly diverse societies with representatives of the European Commission and other European institutions, academia and civil society.

Renew Europe acts together for Ukraine

Earlier this year, Renew Europe welcomed representatives from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy's party, Sluga Narodu, to the European Parliament. The aim of the visit was to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, discuss key issues for Ukraine-EU relations and meet with Renew Europe Group President Stéphane Séjourné and MEPs. The fruitful discussions and constructive dialogue proved that Ukraine’s future is in Europe.

Meloni’s attacks on rainbow families condemned

The Renew Europe Group in the European Parliament condemns Italian Prime minister Giorgia Meloni's recent attack on rainbow families. Her decision, demanding the city council of Milan to stop registering children of same-sex parents, is unacceptable and must be undone. Families come in different shapes and forms and we have a responsibility to fully guarantee their rights everywhere in the EU.
