Venstre returns to Danish government as part of new coalition

A new coalition government took office in Denmark on 15 December. The new centrist government is a majority coalition of the Social Democrats with ALDE member party Venstre and the new Moderate party. Venstre has seven ministers in the new government, with party leader Jakob Ellemann-Jensen serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.

Take action against Russian intimidation of investigative journalists!

On 26 December, Russia put the investigative journalist Christo Grozev on its “wanted” list. Grozev has reported extensively on Russia’s involvement in high-profile international crimes and has been documenting war crimes committed by the Russian army since their illegal invasion of Ukraine. Join ALDE Party co-President Ilhan Kyuchyuk MEP in demanding that the EU condemns Russia’s action and to provide journalists like Grozev with protection.

German liberals kick off 2023: ‘The Future Believes in Us’

Christian Lindner, Germany’s Federal Minister of Finance and Free Democratic Party (FDP) party leader, looked ahead towards 2023 as ‘the year to design the way to prosperity’ at the party’s annual Three Kings event on 6 January. This year, German liberals plan to go beyond acute crises and secure the foundations of German prosperity by focusing on economic growth.

Čmilytė-Nielsen: Lithuanian liberals spearhead efforts to support Ukraine

In an op-ed for the latest issue of the Liberal Bulletin, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, leader of the Liberal Movement and Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas, insisted that the European community must stay united against the Russian threat and provide the necessary support to Ukraine.

Renewing our European industrial policy

The COVID-19 pandemic, Russia’s illegal aggression against Ukraine, nationalist policies of the US and China and increased global trade disputes have shown the vulnerabilities of the European production model. Therefore, Renew Europe has launched a new plan for competitive, productive and innovative industry with the slogan ‘Made in Europe’.
